The CRYMELIGHT opening movie is set to "Love and Guilt", sung by Hitomi Sekine — the voice actor for Mary — and composed by Sakuzyo. The animation was produced by Riri Yamashita at iRi animation production, and the song's lyrics are credited to Sakuzyo and Takumi Isobe.

Two versions of the same film

The opening exists twice on FURYU's channel: one upload with an English title, CRYMELIGHT - Opening Movie, and one with the Japanese title, クライムライト/CRYMELIGHT - オープニングムービー. The footage and the song are the same; only the title card differs.

That is worth knowing before you search, because the English upload is usually the one that surfaces and the Japanese one carries the native logo. Both are official, neither is a fan re-upload.

Who sings "Love and Guilt"

The singer is Hitomi Sekine, who voices Mary in the game. That is the detail most people get wrong: the theme is not performed by an outside artist, it is a character song sung by the actor who plays one of the six.

Composition is by Sakuzyo, who also wrote the game's score. Lyrics are credited to Sakuzyo and Takumi Isobe. The combination is unusual — the composer of a full soundtrack also writing the words for its theme — and it is why the song sounds like an extension of the battle music rather than a separate pop single.

Because the singer is Mary's actor, the vocal timbre is the one you hear from a character on screen. Players who reach Mary's scenes after seeing the opening will recognise the voice before the character introduces herself.

What the animation shows

The film leans on Alice: her fall into Wonderland, the companions around her, and the sins that tie each girl to the prison. It is a character piece rather than a gameplay trailer, with no HUD, no card system and no combat footage.

Riri Yamashita directed the animation at iRi, which is a separate studio from the game's development team. That split is normal for this kind of opening and it explains the difference in finish between the opening and the in-game cutscenes.

Where it sits in the release timeline

The opening was published in September 2026, in the same window as the full demo. It is a standalone upload rather than a segment inside a longer trailer.

The game's marketing otherwise runs on the announcement trailer, a first trailer and a set of short system videos covering the Wonder Dimension, the Tea Party Hall, the Repentance System and Powering Up. The opening is the only one of these that is purely narrative.

The working title story

Before it was CRYMELIGHT, the project carried the name Project Alice. The official X account still uses the handle _Project_Alice, and the PlayStation product identifier contains the same string. It is a development name that outlived the announcement, not a separate game.

For anyone who found the account and wondered whether it belonged to this release: it does. The name is the only surviving trace of the working title in public use.

Watching it before you play

The opening contains no story spoilers beyond the premise already printed on the store page — Alice, Wonderland, the six girls and their sins. It is safe to watch before launch day, and it is the cheapest way to decide whether the art direction is for you.

What it will not tell you is how the game plays. For that, the free demo is the only source: chapter 1, 1.5 to 3 hours, and the card system from the first stage onward.

The song inside the soundtrack

"Love and Guilt" is part of the 30-track Complete Soundtrack that ships with the Steam Deluxe Edition, alongside the game's background music. On console the same album is the shorter 11-track Special Soundtrack.

That means the theme is not a separate single you have to hunt for — it is track one of a package, assuming the album follows the usual ordering. The soundtrack itself is sold separately on Steam, so the song is available without buying the Deluxe Edition.

The trailer order, if you want the story in sequence

FURYU released its media in a specific order: the announcement trailer first, then the 1st Trailer alongside the Battle Demo, then the opening movie in September with the full demo. Each one covers a different job.

The announcement trailer sets the premise, the 1st Trailer shows combat and the card system, and the opening is the only one that is purely character work. Watching them in release order gives you the game the way it was revealed rather than the way a store page presents it.

Watching it on the right channel

Both uploads sit on FURYU's own channel, not on a third-party re-upload. The English-titled version is CRYMELIGHT - Opening Movie; the Japanese one carries the native logo in its title.

If you are embedding or linking it, use the upload that matches your audience's language. The footage is identical, so there is no content reason to prefer one, only a presentation one.
